Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday finally gave in for the 2016 presidential post after he opposed the decision of the Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) on the disqualification case of Senator Grace Poe.
The SET dismissed the petition of Rizalito David to disqualify the senator due to the issues of her citizenship. The ruling got 5-4 votes in favor of Poe.
For Duterte, “the highest post of the land must be reserved for a true-blue Filipino.”
Mayor Duterte believed that Poe could only be considered as a Filipino citizen but not a natural-born Filipino.
Meanwhile, Dayanghirang said Duterte’s local party Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod do not have a decision yet on who will candidate to replace the mayor of the city, be it Inday Sara Duterte or Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte.
