Government agencies launched measures to survey the current situation of the Mt. Apo forest fire.
The Department of Natural Resources (DENR), the City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO) of Digos City, the Mt. Apo Team in coordination with the Bureau of Fire and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council have deployed monitoring teams to assess the damage of the fire.
An aerial survey is also currently being done by the Philippine Air Force. Other provinces have also deployed fire trucks to help extinguish the ongoing fire.
DENR-Digos City Information Officer Franklin Buenaflor the government agencies aims to know the exact location of the forest fire and to prevent it from spreading further to other cities and municipalities.
The objective of the ocular inspection in Mt. Apo is to trace the cause of the fire.
Buenaflor confirmed that the fire has not yet reached the Davao City area which was earlier reported to have started in Campsite 3 of the Mt. Apo Natural Park.
Latest report bared that the fire has burned more than 300 hectares of the mountain forest.
